Becoming a KidZone or Youth Volunteer
Investing in the lives of the next generation is an important way of passing on your faith to the children and teens who are the future of the church. At Grand Valley we believe that our childrens and youth ministry are vital ways that we empower and encourage the next generation to become who God wants them to be.
There are a few extra steps to take before you can become a KidZone or a Youth Volunteer. These steps are:
1. Fill out an application form that includes Two Character References
Please click the button below to download the application form.
2. Complete A Criminal Record Check
Our church makes use of myBackCheck.com to provide Criminal Record Checks for our staff and volunteers. After you fill out an application form and your references are contacted, you will receive an email from myBackCheck which will ask for some information and verify your identity. There are no costs to you for this check.
3. Complete a Manitoba Child Abuse Registry Check
The Manitoba Child Abuse Registry check is completed through the church. You will need to bring two pieces of valid government issued ID that we can photocopy and send away with the form. There is no cost for this check.
4. Read through our plan to protect policy
Every year, our volunteers for KidZone and Youth Ministry need to read through our Plan to Protect Policy to ensure that they understand the precautions that need to be taken to keep kids safe.
Thank you for your willingness to complete these steps, it is an important part of creating a safe and fun environment for children and teens to learn about faith in God.
